Cleaning for Civic and Public-Safety Buildings

Government building cleaning covers civic premises across Metro Atlanta: city and county halls, administrative offices, courthouses, police and fire stations, libraries and community centres. These buildings split into public space anybody can walk into and restricted space that requires the authority's own access procedure, and the scope is written to that division rather than to floor area.

Two features separate a civic building from a commercial one of the same size. The first is that access is not yours to grant. A police station, a courthouse or a records floor operates under a procedure the authority sets, which may mean escorted working, restricted hours, sign-in against a named list, or vetting the authority itself carries out to its own standard. We do not decide any of that. We comply with it, and we put in writing what we can meet before a contract is signed. The second is that the paperwork is the contract. Public procurement runs on a documented specification, so tasks, frequencies, measurable standards and reporting all have to be set down and evidenced against, which shapes how the whole programme is run.

What is included

  • Public counters, service windows and queuing areas, which take the heaviest hand contact in the building
  • Lobbies, atria, entrance matting and security checkpoint areas
  • Council chambers, committee rooms and courtrooms, reset between sittings where the calendar allows
  • Administrative floors, meeting rooms and staff kitchens
  • Restrooms serviced and consumables replenished at the frequency the specification states
  • Corridors, stairwells and lift interiors
  • Libraries and community rooms, including shelf ends and study surfaces
  • Restricted areas entered only under the authority's access procedure
  • A dated record against the specification for every visit

What is not included

  • Entry to any secure or restricted area without the authority's escort or authorisation
  • Evidence rooms, holding areas, cells and anything inside a chain-of-custody process
  • Handling of records, files, correspondence or anything left on a desk
  • Apparatus bays, vehicles and equipment belonging to a fire or police service
  • Biohazard incidents and regulated waste, which stay with the authority's own contractor
  • Grounds, car parks and exterior facades unless separately specified

Optional add-ons

Added to your quote only if you ask for them, and priced before the visit rather than after it.

Daytime attendant cover for public counters and restrooms during opening hours Periodic hard-floor maintenance in lobbies and corridors Carpet extraction on committee and administrative floors Interior glass and screen cleaning at public-facing positions Post-meeting and post-hearing resets Consumables supplied and stock-managed against the specification Additional coverage during elections, public consultations and civic events

How it works

  1. 1 We read the specification first A public scope is a document, so we price what it says rather than what we assume.
  2. 2 We separate public from restricted Two schedules, because the access procedure differs and so does the staffing.
  3. 3 We settle access with the authority Escorting, sign-in and any vetting requirement are set by you and answered by us in writing.
  4. 4 We evidence every visit A dated record against the specified tasks, so the contract can be audited rather than trusted.

What affects the price

Every quote is free and fixed after the walkthrough, or from the property details you provide. These are the things that move the figure.

  • Gross floor area and how much of it is publicly accessible
  • How many restroom blocks and how heavily the public uses them
  • The hours the building is open and whether it operates continuously
  • How much of the building requires escorted or restricted access
  • What the specification demands in reporting and evidence
  • How many buildings sit under one specification
Our standard

What matters most to Metro Atlanta clients

Homeowners and business owners across Metro Atlanta tend to care about the same three things when they hire a cleaning company. Here is how we approach each of them.

Showing up when we say we will

A cleaning you have to chase is worse than no cleaning at all. We confirm the window before the visit, we arrive inside it, and if something changes on our end you hear it from us first rather than finding out when nobody knocks.

The parts other people skip

Baseboards, the tops of door frames, the corner behind the bin, the inside of the microwave. We work from a checklist built around your property on the first visit, and we adjust it whenever you tell us something matters more than we assumed.

People you are comfortable letting in

Everyone who arrives is in a Mater uniform and can tell you exactly what was booked. Wherever scheduling allows we keep the same pair on your property, so you are not introducing strangers to your home or your building every few weeks.

Not happy with something? Tell us within 24 hours and we will come back and put it right.

Common questions about government building cleaning

Do you meet the access requirements for restricted areas?

Access to a secure part of a civic building is the authority's decision and runs on the authority's terms: escorted working, a named-list sign-in, or a vetting process your department carries out itself. Send us the policy and, before anything is signed, you will have our written answer on which parts of it we can satisfy. We will never assert a clearance we do not hold.

Can you clean a building that never closes?

Yes, and public-safety buildings usually are exactly that. A fire or police station is scoped zone by zone rather than as a single pass, worked around shift changes, call-outs and the areas that empty at predictable hours. Some parts of such a building are simply cleaned whenever they happen to be free, and the specification should say so.

How is the work documented for procurement?

Against the specification itself. Each task carries a frequency and a measurable standard, each visit produces a dated record of what was completed, and exceptions are reported rather than absorbed. That is what a public body needs to demonstrate the contract is being delivered, and it is built into the programme rather than assembled when somebody asks.

Which civic buildings do you cover?

City and county halls, administrative and permitting offices, courthouses and hearing rooms, police and fire stations, public libraries, recreation and community centres, and the depots or annexes attached to them. Traffic through them varies enormously, so each building is walked and scoped on its own even under a single portfolio contract.
