Two things make childcare settings different. The first is that everything is touched constantly and at low level, so door handles, light switches, table edges, chair backs, toy storage and floor surfaces matter far more than they do in an office. The second is timing: cleaning has to fit around a timetable that does not move, including holidays, INSET days and term dates that are set a year ahead. We plan the schedule around the school calendar rather than asking the school to work around us.

Common questions about school and daycare cleaning
When do you clean a school?
Outside teaching hours, normally after the last session or early in the morning. The heavier work such as floor treatment and deep cleaning is planned into half-terms and holidays, when the building is empty and we are not working around a timetable.
Do you clean during school holidays?
Yes, and holidays are usually when the substantial work happens. Carpet extraction, hard-floor treatment and full room resets all need an empty building, so we plan them into the holiday schedule at the start of the year.
Are your staff cleared to work in a school?
Safeguarding requirements vary by setting, so tell us what your policy requires at the walkthrough and we will confirm in writing whether we meet it before any booking is made. We would rather tell you plainly than assume.
Do you clean toys and soft play equipment?
Hard-surface toys and storage, yes, as part of the room scope. Soft toys and fabric play equipment need laundering rather than cleaning, so that is agreed separately if you want it included.
